Review

Though seemed to be a very NORMAL DRAMA,  you can find very different scenes that are quite unusual in the historical genre.

First and foremost, the characteristics of Goo Hae-ryung, neither a warrior nor a typical girl portrayal! Quite unique! further, She does not like romance, rather, the Prince does!

Not a princess, but a Historian! The relationship between her and the fellow historians was depicted in a funny way, however, when needed, it pictured how supportive a colleague should be!

Coming to the Prince, he is charming, lonely, depressed, and his reactions on Hae-ryung criticism will be very humorous.

The last one is, live in relationship concept in joseon era? Very very unique!

The second lead pair hide and seek romance will be a nice watch!

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo is One of the Best Historical dramas ever made in the History of Korean Dramas.Even after a decade ,and even after that, this drama will be in the top 10 list! It deserves to be!
This is not a usual Korean drama(be it historical) where the male lead would be gentle and do anything and everything for his love! This drama portrays the realistic history and the thirst for power that made relationships void!

Terrific performances by all the actors, especially Lee joon-gi and of course, about the poor girl Hae-Soo who was caught between the princes!! A just big WoW! hope none can suit other than Lee Ji-eun. The entire crew has shown their outstanding performances especially Kang ha-neul, Kang Han-na , Hong Jong-hyun, Byun Baek-hyun Nam Joo-hyuk , Ji Soo.

Mr. Queen

These days in Seoul, two rogue chefs worked at the Blue House, considered the residence of the South Korean president. Bong-hwan’s world breathable with the motto: “Cooking is politics.” The swaggering-and-a-small-spattering-of-dirty-mouthed type of chef started each said thing with a somewhat sarcastic twist and even insults high-profile guests, when bored.

Things kicked off when, during an important diplomatic meal, Bong-hwan slyly served fish to an ambassador allergic to it. A hook got discovered in the food, and all of a sudden, trouble began. Next came the cops, following which Bong-hwan was cornered by police officers at his apartment. More scared than anything else, Bong-hwan did what any scared would do: he jumped off the balcony into the swimming pool below. But instead of coming up, he kept descending, surrounded by strange lights. A mysterious woman appeared, and as she kissed him, one ding happened—a funny little thing called “life” changed for him.

When Bong-hwan wakes up, he is definitely not somewhere in contemporary Seoul. He locates himself in the Joseon period but in the body of Queen Kim So-yong. His confusion and fright are so great that he first assumes that he must have been drugged or duped into some weird surgery. He is still quite sure that it is only a dream, but the people near him are bowing and addressing him as “Your Highness.” Slowly, he gets the idea of a soul exchange with Her Majesty.

Struggling to adjust, Bong-hwan tries to find a way back. He suspects the lake outside the palace is connected to his sudden time travel and spirit switch, but when he attempts to dive in, he ends up humiliated and covered in mud. Meanwhile, palace physicians notice his strange behavior. They report to senior officials that the Queen appears to have memory loss, raising suspicions that something unusual is happening.

Inside the palace, political tensions rise. The Grand Queen Dowager controls the court and uses the young King Cheoljong as a figurehead. Though he appears gentle and somewhat clueless, Cheoljong hides deeper thoughts behind his calm smile. The Queen Dowager, however, keeps strict authority over him.

Bong-hwan, trapped in Kim So-yong’s body, soon learns that a royal marriage to the King is imminent. Horrified, he tries to resist but is forced to go through with the elaborate wedding ceremony. His undignified behavior shocks the palace staff, as he complains about the heavy headdress and struggles to maintain composure. During the vows, he even gasps for breath, overwhelmed by the reality of the situation.

Later that evening, Bong-hwan realizes with dread that he must consummate the marriage. He tries to drink to escape the problem, but the King refuses to allow alcohol. The episode ends with Bong-hwan’s panic increasing; he may be stuck in the Queen’s body, married to a King he does not love, in a time period he barely understands.

Episode 1 sets up a comedic and dramatic journey. It combines time travel, palace intrigue, and mistaken identity. Bong-hwan’s modern personality, trapped in a royal queen’s life, promises chaos, laughter, and conflict in the episodes ahead. Further episodes will be even more funny. This is one of the best Korean Dramas , dont miss it.
