Episode 1: “The boy who floats”

In the first episode of Moving, Bong-Seok is shown flying into the air and then falling on the floor in a recurrent nightmare. Her mother, Mi-Hyun, binds him to his bed when he wakes up to prevent him from falling asleep. Below, Mi-hyun has prepared a breakfast, which Bong-seok eagerly devours. Recently, Ju-won, Mi-hyun’s spouse, launched a chicken restaurant and is occupied with his new venture. Hui-soo, a resolute and responsible daughter who supports her father while they struggle with a humble living, is another significant character that is presented in a different household. Before leaving for school, she gives him a quiet, strong reassurance despite her concerns about her school supplies and finances.

Mi-hyun sneaks hefty weights into Bong-seok’s backpack in secret to keep him grounded when he arrives late for school. Additionally, she is always checking her phone for news of odd mishaps that could reveal the identities of those with abilities. While traveling to school, Bong-seok meets Hui-soo. Upon her bus card being rejected, he kindly pays her fare. As they converse, their disparate origins become apparent, and during the journey, Bong-seok tries to control his levitation by reciting quietly to relax.

While worrying about money, Ju-won injures himself at home, and Mi-hyun fears that Bong-seok would lose control again. As an act of discipline, teacher Choi Il-Hwan makes Bong-Seok clean the restroom when he appears late to the classroom. Il-Hwan, Sung-wook, and the Principal who visited the school to discuss security issues. Though it soon becomes apparent that Sung-wook has his own covert objective, he exhibits particular deference toward Rae-hyuk, a strong school administrator with covert authority, throughout the meeting. Sung-wook’s internal conflict is exacerbated by his personal struggle with his desire for a steady teaching position.

Gang-hoon gathers pupils’ phones inside the classroom, and one girl raises suspicions by filming Bong-seok downing a whole bottle of water in a matter of seconds. Hui-soo has now had a personal conversation with Il-hwan, who recommended that she take P.E. lessons, so she would be eligible for a scholarship at a top notch school. She is concerned about leaving her father behind but is swayed to try out sports. To his surprise, she enrolls in Bong-seok’s class; nonetheless, he finds it difficult to concentrate and levitates once more while attempting to conceal his secret.

In South Korea, a man named Frank emerges. He has a large “F” tattooed on his back along with many other tattoos. He poses as a deliveryman after he picks up a package at the airport. He finds a phone with the number “11” written on it and documents from the Supernatural Control Agency. Frank follows the lead and meets a retired man with skills named Jin-cheon. Frank throws Jin-cheon out of a window to kill him after their bloody combat, which showcases both men’s exceptional abilities. Frank then texts the word “delete” to reiterate the assassination.

Il-hwan leads Hui-soo as she resumes her training at school. Meanwhile, fascinated by Bong-seok’s abilities, Gang-hoon keeps an eye on her as she meticulously cleans the restrooms. She offers to carry her bag when the school guard later sees Bong-seok waiting for Hui-soo following practice. Mi-hyun feeds Bong-seok a hearty dinner and continues to secure him with weights in his backpack, while Hui-soo visits a tutor but finds the lessons too expensive. She knows that her father is very wounded by her financial load, yet he appears indifferent when Hui-soo tells him about her outfit at home.

The story then moves to the National Security Planning Agency, where officials talk about the unexplained death of Jin-cheon. In the course of their covert investigation, they blame the killings on a “breeding program” that involved individuals with powers and pretend it was an accident. The CIA gets ready for more extensive operations as political tensions increase.

While Mi-hyun is cleaning her rifle at the end of the episode, she is well aware that someone is hunting individuals just like her son. Bong-seok now wishes to limit his skills for his mother’s sake since he feels that danger is imminent because of her protection.

Episode 2: “A Mother’s Struggle and New Threats”

As the second episode begins with a flashback, we learn that Mi-Hyun and her young son Bong-Seok moved to the city in December of 2003. Although he was able to walk, he withdrew to stop him from floating off. She began crying in a restaurant, and told her son that she was tired and weighed down. She soon leased a remote greenhouse, paying in advance with the specific requirement that the landlord never come.

As Mi-hyun settled in, she met a butcher who was also a parent to a special needs child. Initially, Mi-hyun thought she was passing judgment, but the woman’s intention was merely to assist. Mi-hyun was instructed by her to get Bong-seok ready for life without her. Mi-hyun took this to heart and started training her son, wearing weights and researching how the weather and emotions affected his ability to levitate. His ability to remain grounded might be impacted by his food, his state of mind, and even her own responses, she thought.

When Mi-hyun purchased a home in 2007, she launched a tiny donkatsu business. Bong-seok spent much of his time watching TV, and she kept him at a distance to keep him safe. The superhero Bungaeman captivated him, and he aspired to be like him. He did, however, once fly above his companions as they were playing. One youngster suffered a devastating injury when they tried to imitate him by jumping from a climbing wall. The youngsters said that Bong-seok had flown, but the parents didn’t accept their story. Principal Rae-hyuk remained silent, nevertheless, as the events took place.

Following her apology and Mi-hyun’s return, Bong-seok felt hopeless and unwilling to accept the fact that he was always at fault. They were one in a million, so she did warn him to exercise caution if he truly wanted to be a hero. Mi-hyun pulled him back, promising she would save him no matter what, even after all he could do was cry in the rain that night – he nearly floated away.

Even if Bong-seok is a minor in 2018 and he has to deal with hormone changes, he does not have the same capacity to restrain his powers. Once, he even hit his nose on the ceiling after he occasionally levitated himself while asleep. The bus driver, Gye-do, makes fun of Bong-seok for his covert admiration for Hui-soo. As per usual, Bong-seok observes from a distance as Hui-soo dashes to school in the rain.

In the meantime, Frank continues his task. His next target is Young-seok, who owns a bookstore and has the capacity to steal electricity. During their struggle, Young-seok breaks Frank’s neck with a book but is unable to kill him. However, he does empty the building. Frank believed it might be related to Young-seok’s son, so he preserved a photo of Jeongwon High that Young-seok tried to destroy before she died.

Both Bong-seok and Hui-soo are late when they crash at the gate of the school. Il-hwan, the teacher, grades them on cleaning the restrooms. After Ki-soo harasses Hui-soo, Gang-hoon steps in and uses his superpowers to beat Ki-soo senselessly behind the school.
