Kang Ji-won realizes that in order to change her destiny, someone else must take the life she has been destined to live upon waking up ten years back in time. She has now resolved that her self-centered boyfriend Park Min-hwan should be with her devious best friend Jung Soo-min instead.
Ji-won sees that Yoo Ji-hyuk, the calm and sharp-headed manager of her department interacts with her at work in a way that is completely different from what he did back in her past life. Ji-won is surprised to find Ji-hyuk defending the female workers when their boss makes inappropriate remarks against them. Finally, Ji-won tells Ji-hyuk that she has chosen to keep working, because this time she wishes to live her life totally differently.
Ji-won begins changing small events she remembers from the past. Instead of becoming Soo-min’s victim again, she cleverly avoids being embarrassed in the cafeteria and even turns the situation around, causing Soo-min to bump into Min-hwan. Ji-won manages to establish a deep relationship with Yang Joo-ran, a kind-hearted colleague, and Yoo Hee-yeon, a happy colleague she did not have any close relationship with in her previous life. The new acquaintances empower Ji-won in the way she never thought possible before.
At the same time, Soo-min continues with the charade of the perfect friend. However, Ji-won now sees through every artificially constructed smile. That day at the office Ji-won is surprised to find out that Yoo Ji-hyuk, a smart and kind marketing director in the company, is, for some unknown reason, persistently guarding her secret. While everyone around Ji-won thinks poorly of her, Ji-hyuk thinks otherwise.
During this time, Soo-min continues to act like Ji-won’s supportive friend but her actual motivation is to be in control the situations. But Ji-won has found a way to not get caught in Soo-min’s snare. Ji-won effectively plays with conversations and sets up opportunities which will eventually result in bringing Soo-min and Min-hwan together.
