Sungkyunkwan Scandal(2010):
Park Min-young acted as Kim Yun-hee (when girl)/Kim Yun-sook (when a boy), nicknamed “Dae-mul”, a girl who pretends as a boy in order to continue her studies.
Inspired by the famous novel The Lives of Sungkyunkwan Confucian Scholars, the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal depicts how a story of a woman who disguises herself as a man and thereby starts working as a substitute test taker but finally ended up as a student in prestigious Sungkyunkwan, the Joseon Dynasty’s highest educational institute, where women are not allowed.
In those times where women were not allowed to educate or employed, Kim Yoon-hee (played by Park Min-young) who disguises herself as her brother, Kim Yoon-shik, works at the bookstore to cope up with her family needs! She was then offered to impersonate as candidates to take up the entrance exam at Sungkyunkwan University as a substitute test taker which is an illegal act! Reluctant Yoon-hee agreed to take up the test as a substitute since it would add some amount to her income!
The real story starts when she shares the room with Moon Jae-shin (played Yoo Ah-in), a lonely person who hides his true self. Further, she has to bear with upperclassman Gu Yong-ha (played Song Joong-ki) who sets his eyes on her to find out her true identity and the strict student body president Ha In-soo (played by Jun Tae-soo) who has a grudge on her.
Park Min-young won Excellence Award, under Actress in a Mid-length Drama category at KBS Drama Awards 2010.This drama is a breakthrough for almost all the main leads especially Park min-young, Song Joong-ki and Yoo Ah-in. Further, this drama won Outstanding Korean Drama Award at 6th Seoul International Drama Awards,2011 and also won Bronze World Medal for Best Miniseries at 55th New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards. The original soundtrack, that featured Park Yoo-chun’s band JYJ, sold 110,000 copies in a couple of weeks.
For the drama’s first anniversary, Korean cable channel QTV re-edited this drama into a two-hour TV movie and telecasted it on September 10, 2011.
City Hunter(2011):
Park Min-young acted as Kim na-na who was forced to take care of herself at an early age after losing her mother in a drunk and drive accident that eventually lead his father to lay comatose. These struggles at a very early age carved Kim na-na to become an independent and strong-willed girl who excels in martial arts. Her exceptional skills in martial arts earn her an assignment in the blue house that involved with the Presidential Security Service.
The City Hunter is an action drama with a very usual plot! After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States, Lee Yoon-sung returns to South Korea to fulfil his revenge. As a part of his revenge move, he starts working as an IT expert and works at Blue House. He falls in love with Kim na-na (Park Min-young) and later they both become a team as they are of the same motive. Conflicts arise when Yoon-sung disagrees with his adopted father Lee Jin-pyo, who is Lee Yoon-sung’s father’s colleague, Close Fried, and the master of this entire revenge plan.
City hunter performed well with 16.0% of nationwide Average audience Share. Though this drama has not bagged her any awards, she was nominated under several categories and was praised for her portrayal.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim(2018):
Park Min-young acted as Kim Mi-so, secretary of Lee Young-joon, the President and Vice Chairman of Yumyeong Group. Though finds him Narcissistic, She soon reciprocates Young-joon’s feelings even before realizing her childhood connection with him.
The story revolves around, Lee Young-joon, the President and Vice Chairman of Yumyeong Group and Mi-so/ Secretary Kim ( of the vice-chairman, Lee Young-joon). Secretary Kim, though worked under Lee Young-joon for over 9 years, still finds it difficult to work with him, and when she told her plans of resignation, shocked Young-joon, realized his feelings for her and wanted her to be with him at all cost. But still,mi-so never knows that the person she desperately looking for years is with her. Meanwhile, Young-joon’s brother’s friendship with secretary Kim makes Young-joon extremely jealous and eventually adding fuel to his Narcissistic personality.
What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim is one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history and Park Min-young was awarded K-Star Award, Actress at 6th APAN Star Awards for WWWSK.
She went on to receive Best Actress of the Year at 14th Annual Soompi Awards.
Healer(2014):
Park Min-young acted as Chae Young-shin/Oh Ji-an, an optimistic, strong-willed, and quirky internet news reporter who wanted to become a legendary reporter like her crush/idol Kim Mun-ho, a star reporter. However, her dreams are put on hold when she came to know her hidden past as the lost child Oh Ji-an.
The story revolves around an investigation about an incident that happened in 1992. This incident has made three people, an illegal ‘night courier’ who possess great fighting skills and has a code name ‘Healer’ (played by ji chang wook) , A renowned journalist from a top broadcast station(played by Yoo Ji-tae), and a reporter of a still-developing tabloid news website (played by Park Min-young) to work together. These three people with different opinions join hands to uncover the truth which made their lives in threat. The story pictures the difficulties they face upon discovering the truth and the romance between the Healer and the reporter.
Though it has modest success in South Korea, the series was a major hit in other countries of Asia.
Park Min-young won Excellence Award, Actress in a Mid-length Drama at KBS Drama Awards.
Ji Chang-wook and Park Min-young won Best Couple Award at KBS Drama Awards and 4th Annual DramaFever Awards.

The story starts quite romantic where shin chae-kyung chases Lee Yeok, also known as Prince Jinseong-daegun who always ignores her reasons though he loves her deeply! The story takes a serious turn after they got married and when Lee Yoong, also known as King Yeonsangun falls for her despite she is her brother’s wife! After few episodes ,the story becomes heavy and full of sad scenes! if you want to see a sad romantic one, this is a good choice!
